Ghost Job Checker helps users evaluate job postings for possible ghost-job signals. This Privacy Policy explains what data the extension processes and how it is used.

1. Data We Process

When you click Analyze this job, the extension processes:

• Current page URL
• Job title (best effort extraction)
• Company name (best effort extraction)
• Job description/page text needed for analysis

If you click Save Job, the extension sends the analyzed job content and analysis result to the backend save endpoint.

2. How We Use Data

• Analyze the current job posting and return risk/hiring scores
• Display analysis results in the extension UI
• Save analyzed jobs only when explicitly requested by the user
• Improve reliability and abuse prevention through basic server logs

3. Data We Do Not Collect for This Extension Purpose

• Passwords or authentication credentials
• Payment card or financial account information
• Health information
• Personal communications (email/chat message content)

4. Sharing

We do not sell personal data. Data is processed by our own backend and may be handled by infrastructure providers used to operate the service (for example, hosting and database vendors).

5. Retention

Analysis requests may be retained in backend systems for service operation, troubleshooting, and saved-job features. We keep data only as long as needed for these purposes.

6. Security

We use reasonable administrative and technical safeguards, but no method of transmission or storage is 100% secure.

7. Your Choices

• You can stop data processing by uninstalling the extension.
• You can choose not to use the Save Job feature.

8. Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy from time to time. The latest version will be posted at this URL with an updated effective date.
